Case study

Chouquette

Three tools that don’t talk to each other. I turned them into one bag.

What I saw

A creative person follows the news in a feed reader, keeps images on boards, jots ideas somewhere else. What they read in the morning never reaches what they draw in the afternoon.

The angle

Four spaces in one app, and a gesture to move between them. You read, you swipe, and the article lands on the canvas where the idea takes shape.

Design decisions

04
01 Swipe like in Mail Swipe an article right and it goes to your latest board; swipe left and it’s set aside. With a finger, a pencil or a trackpad, with a threshold you can feel.
02 A flower to add things One floating button you can place anywhere. Tap it and the tools open as petals around it; drag, and the card lands where you let go.
03 Your trade first At sign-up you pick your trade: video maker, graphic designer, UX designer or jeweller. Chouquette sets up the sources, images and templates that go with it.
04 Playful words, plain buttons A board is called a chouquette, today’s list is the batch. But a delete button says “Delete”: humour comes along, it never decides.

In the app, the little white rabbit files your finds and keeps the time. He’s late for everything, except your work.
