Tapote

Your iPhone becomes your iPad’s keyboard.

The iPad shows a note being written; in front, the iPhone is used as a keyboard with word suggestions.

Behind the app

Tapote

The keyboard you already had in your pocket.

What I saw

The iPad’s on-screen keyboard hides half of what you write. A Bluetooth keyboard is one more thing to buy, charge and carry. Yet we all have an iPhone in our pocket, and we type fast on it.

The angle

Tapote uses a custom keyboard installed on the iPad, an official Apple mechanism. Put the iPhone sideways, type, and the text appears in Notes, Mail, Safari, Messages or any other app, with no copy-paste.

01 Made for thumbs

In landscape, Tapote fills the whole iPhone screen. Big keys that sink under your finger with a light vibration, and a suggestion bar above them that learns your words.

02 The cursor at your fingertips

Rest two fingers on the keyboard and slide: the cursor moves on the iPad. No more aiming between two letters.

Two fingers slid across the keyboard: the keys fade and the Cursor badge appears.
03 Cut out for iPhone Duo

Opened flat, iPhone Duo becomes a full-size keyboard. And to type with both hands like on a tablet, the keyboard splits in two.

04 Nothing leaves your hands

A secret key is created on both your devices when you pair them. No one else, not even us, can read what you type. Nothing is stored. And when the iPhone and iPad sit side by side, they talk directly, without going through the internet.
